Yakima is home turf, and it shows in the small stuff. We know which loading dock the Yakima Convention Center wants you at, where the power lives in the Modern Living building at State Fair Park, and how long it takes to get a backdrop through the doors at the Capitol Theatre before a gala. Our crew has set up on the SunDome floor during the Central Washington State Fair and in a grandmother's backyard on Nob Hill the same weekend. Both nights got the same overlay, the same lighting, and the same line of guests laughing at their prints.
The event mix here is unlike anywhere else in the state. Quinceañeras run nearly year-round, with the busiest Saturdays from April through October. Homecoming and prom season pulls us into Davis, Eisenhower, West Valley, and East Valley gyms. Then comes wedding season in the wineries: Gilbert Cellars' Hackett Ranch, Owen Roe, Treveri Cellars just down the road in Wapato, and the tasting rooms clustered along Rattlesnake Hills. Corporate holiday parties fill December at the Red Lion Yakima Center and Hotel Maison, and church anniversaries and nonprofit fundraisers keep our Community rate busy Monday through Thursday.
